Privacy Policy

Codex Meter is a small iOS utility for displaying your Codex usage in an app and Home Screen widget. It does not operate a developer backend, run ads, or include third-party analytics SDKs.

Information Processed By The App

Codex Meter processes only the information needed to sign in and display your usage: Codex OAuth credentials, usage-window values, reset times, model labels, refresh settings, and recent usage snapshots.

Authentication

Sign-in happens through the Codex/ChatGPT OAuth flow in Apple's web authentication session. Refreshable credentials are stored locally in the iOS Keychain so the app and widget can refresh usage data. Codex Meter does not receive, collect, or store those credentials on a developer-operated server.

Usage Data

The app calls the ChatGPT Codex usage endpoint directly from your device using your signed-in account. The returned 5-hour and weekly usage values are cached locally on your device so the widget can display recent numbers between refreshes.

Data Collection

Codex Meter does not collect personal data for developer analytics, advertising, tracking, or resale. It does not transmit your OAuth token or usage history to a server controlled by Codex Meter.

Third-Party Services

Codex Meter communicates with ChatGPT/OpenAI services to authenticate your account and retrieve usage. Those services may process request information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

On-Device Storage

Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. Usage snapshots and refresh preferences are stored locally using Apple app storage shared between the app and widget. You can clear stored Codex credentials from inside the app.

Children's Privacy

Codex Meter is a developer utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated when Codex Meter changes how it handles data. The effective date above will reflect the latest version.
